Who we are
A second home shouldn't look like nobody's home.
Nutz Lawncare & Maintenance is a family crew working the mountains around Otto, Franklin, Highlands, and Lake Toxaway. We've learned these slopes yard by yard — what holds through a mountain winter, what washes out in a spring storm, and what it takes to keep a property looking cared for every month of the year.
Grounds work in the high country isn't the same trade it is in the flatlands. Slopes shed water sideways. Leaves come down by the ton. That's why we build what we maintain — retaining walls, stone steps, walkways, and decks made for sloped ground — and maintain what we build, on a schedule.
Many of the properties we care for belong to people who aren't there most of the year — second-home owners, vacation-rental hosts, families who come up for the summer. Year-round care is the heart of what we do: scheduled visits, seasonal cleanups, and a property that's ready every time you pull in.

When should I schedule spring and fall cleanup in the NC mountains?
Earlier than you'd think. Leaves come down by the ton up here and spring storms leave debris behind, so fall cleanup slots fill from October on and spring cleanups book up as soon as the weather turns. If you're on a recurring maintenance plan, seasonal cleanup is already built into your schedule.
